The Driehaus Museum invites enthusiasts and new visitors alike to explore its extensive collection and special exhibitions through an interactive mobile application that provides an in-depth experience of the historic Nickerson Mansion and its luxurious interiors. Visitors can select from a variety of self-guided tours and utilize detailed floor maps to navigate at their own pace. As visitors progress from room to room, the app offers timely notifications highlighting noteworthy details and significant objects within the collection.

App Features:

<li>Self-Guided Tours: Select from multiple curated tours that delve into the history of the Nickerson Mansion, current special exhibitions, highlights of the Museum’s collection, or a focused exploration of Tiffany commissions under the theme "Beyond the Mansion."</li>
<li>Interactive Map: A Bluetooth-enabled map accompanies visitors across all three floors, providing insights into the architecture, the individuals associated with the mansion’s history, and interesting facts about the decorative arts within the collection.</li>
<li>“Likes” Feature: Save rooms and objects of particular interest to a personalized “Likes” page for easy review and further exploration at a later time.</li>

About the Museum:

The Richard H. Driehaus Museum aims to inspire a global audience through engaging experiences in art, architecture, and design, centered around ongoing dialogues related to the Gilded Age. Its permanent collection of decorative arts is displayed within the restored 1883 Nickerson Mansion, once renowned as Chicago’s “Marble Palace,” situated just steps from the Magnificent Mile.

Founded by Richard H. Driehaus (1942–2021), the Museum reflects his lifelong commitment to arts advocacy, historic preservation, and architectural excellence. A dedicated Chicago entrepreneur and preservationist, Driehaus championed projects that emphasized humanistic values in the built environment and supported initiatives for design innovation and preservation throughout his career.
